Francis L. “Lee” Paul, 65, of McPherson, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Salina Regional Health Center. Lee was a power plant turbine operator for McPherson Board of Public Utilities, retiring in 2010 after 34 years of service. He also owned and operated McPherson Home Inspection.
Lee was born on Feb. 25, 1947, in Wamego, Kan., the son of Cecil J. and Gertrude (Sander) Paul. He graduated from Eskridge High School. On August 13, 1976, Lee was united in marriage to Wendy L. (Myers) Hawkinson in McPherson.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 35 years, Wendy, of the home; sons, Alan Paul and wife, Candice, of Galva, Kan., Mark Paul of Tucson, Ariz., Ryan Paul of McPherson, David Paul and wife, Amy, of Wilmington, NC, and Jason Paul of Radford, Vir.; granddaughter, McKenna Paul of Galva; brothers, Cecil Paul and wife, MaryEllen of Burlington, Kan. and Craig Paul and wife, Brenda, of Tecumseh, Kan.; and sisters, Mary Neath and husband, Marti, of Port Orchard, Wash. and Juanita Butler and husband, John, of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnnie Paul.
The funeral service was Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating. Burial was in the McPherson Cemetery.
