On Feb. 9 the team traveled to Rossville for its first tournament of the year. The team did well, bringing home the 2nd place trophy while only having nine students participate. Winning medals for the Mustangs were Sara Nider- 1st in dramatic solo and 1st in duet with Jackson Meyer, Chance Maginness-1st in poetry and 1st in extemporaneous speaking, Jacob Miller-1st in humorous solo acting and 2nd in dramatic solo acting, Mckenzy Umscheid-2nd in prose and 5th in duet with Casey Helget, Casey & Jackson-6th in improvised duet acting, and Trey Basa-3rd in dramatic solo acting and 4th in prose. “I was especially happy for Casey Helget. It was her first tournament ever, and she broke in two events,” said Miller.
