Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office Press release
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence call at 2553 Carlson Road on March 29, 2013 and during the investigation discovered a chop shop operation. Sheriff’s Deputies discovered vehicles in various degrees of disassembly as well as numerous car and truck parts, tools, trailers, and machinery. At least four of the vehicles had been reported stolen from neighboring jurisdictions.
In addition Sheriff Doug Howser said firearms, televisions, and an ATV that had been stolen were recovered from the location as well. Sheriff Howser said there was an insurmountable amount of property at the location and the investigation will take some time to complete. The Sheriff’s Office is currently working with other jurisdictions to properly identify where some of the property was actually taken from.
At this time no arrests have been made but at least two suspects have been identified. This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be made available at a later date.
